Rhiannon & Mark are two of the most warm, beautiful souls I’ve met. They volunteered to model for me in this styled elopement at Irvine Beach and it was spectacular.

I always aim for my styled elopements to feel as authentic as possible. It’s so important to me that I photograph real emotions and reactions. That’s why I ask for real couples to volunteer and Rhiannon & Mark are no exception. In fact, they have actually been together for 9 years and are so very, very in love. Honestly, I don’t need to tell you – it’s obvious that they love being together.

We got lucky with an incredible sunset. For a rainy March it was very unexpected and made the whole session that much sweeter.

I captured the couple walking along the beach, taking in the sites, saying their vows to each other, talking about their future and then dancing to their song Supersymmetry by Arcade Fire. Honestly, it was pretty romantic – I had to keep reminding myself it wasn’t real because it sure felt like a real elopement.

I’m really lucky that I get to use sessions like these as a way to finetune my craft, explore new techniques and show you what could be possible if you decided to elope on a beach. Capturing love stories is my bliss. I love love. Especially love like this – joyful, pure, kind love. I am so thankful that this is my job and thankful to know couples like Rhiannon & Mark because of it.
